    On 21 March 1759 "James Deane. . . born Epswich Boston, trade Silver-Smith" enlisted in Captain James Smith's company of the Queens County militia. 9
  • He worked in 1762-1763 as a silversmith in Falmouth ME
    While in Falmouth, he sold a quarter interest in his Ipswich property to silversmith Paul Little. At a session of the Inferior Court of Common Pleas held at Falmouth on 14 October 1763 in reference to the sale, Dane is described as "now removed out of the Province." 9
