Specification forming part of Design No. 5,970, dated July 2, 1872.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, FREDERICK W. MARTIN, of Springfield, in the county of Hampden and State of Massachusetts, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Ring; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof, reference being had to the accompanying drawing making a part of this specification, in which-
Figure 1 is a view, showing one-half the outer surface of the ring. Fig. 2 is a view, showing the other half of the outer surface; find Fig. 3 is an end view.
The nature of my invention is represented in the accompanying drawing, in which a is a finger-ring, the outer surface of which is of plain cylindrical form, and having upon said outer surface a few bars of music engraved thereon. The staff and characters may be enameled in colors, and the general surface of the ring left the natural color of the metal; or the staff and characters may be left the natural color of the metal and the other surface enameled.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letter's Patent, is-
    1. A design for a ring haying a music-staff engraved thereon, substantially as specified.
    2. The design for a ring, substantially herein shown and described.
