  • He worked circa 1783-1835 as a silversmith in Gilmanton NH inventive instruments maker, engineer, watch- and clockmaker, merchant, landlord and able citizen, as well as silversmith and engraver, In Antiques Magazine (Sept. 1943) Spinney lists inventory of Gilman's estate including tools, unfinished instruments and two cases of shop drawers with their contents. 3
