  Originally trained as a printer, he moved to Concord and established a jewelry shop in the Stickney Block, having purchased the stock of Seth Eastman Brown. He later took up bookbinding and moved on to Watertown MA.

• He appeared on the 1850 census taken at Concord NH, listed as a silversmith.

• He appeared on the 1880 census taken at Watertown MA, listed as a salesman.
