  Events in his life were:

• Flynt & Fales:, . ³ Served for a while during the Revolution aboard the privateer Minerva which captured the British merchant ship Hannah. Included in his share of the booty was a brocaded silk dress which he presented to his future bride. However, the marriage never took place for he lost his life in the defense of Fort Griswold at Groton, Sept. 6, 1781.

• He was a partner in 1775-1780 with Zebulon and Enoch Stanton in Stonington CT as D. E. & Z. STANTON. ¹⁴
