    The top spoon, monogrammed C.W. Bradley, was made for the wife of Gustavus Bradley, Caroline W. Hotchkiss. The bottom spoon, monogrammed JCF, was made for Julia Caroline French, the grand daughter of Caroline & Gustavus Bradley through their daughter Catherine.

  • Advertised in the New Haven Directory (New Haven CT), 1840, informing the public that the firm was making the flat silver it offered for sale ". . . in the shop at the back." and "We have on hand, of our own manufacture, a large assortment of Table, Tea, Cream, Dessert, Mustard and Salt Spoons: Sugar Tongs, Soup Ladles, Forks and Butter KNIVES. As the above articles are manufactured in our store and under our supervision, we can warrant them to be of good SILVER."
  • He appeared on the 1850 census taken at New Haven CT, listed as a jeweler.
