  • Master to Charles Selkirk 1814-1815 in Albany NY. Suffering from ill health, Charles cut short his training and returned home and eventually became a carpenter.
  • He was a partner in 1817-1819 with Rufus Putnam in Albany NY as SELKIRK & PUTNAM. 18
  • He worked after 1822 as a surveyor in Texas as one of Austin's Old Three Hundred colonists. He was listed as a goldsmith in the March 1823 census of the Colorado District.

William married Matilda Hallenbake on 22 Nov 1813 in Albany NY. (Matilda Hallenbake was born on 18 Jan 1794 in Bethlehem NY and died on 25 Aug 1820 in Bethlehem NY.)
